The Nici launch

The Nici Bournemouth officially opened with a lavish launch on 9th June and I was one of the lucky guests. The hotel previously known as The Savoy on the West Cliff reopened after the first phase of a 25 million refurbishment.

When you arrive at a hotel launch and the first thing you see is a giant ice sculpture draped in seafood you know it's going to be a good night. Add to that giant stacks of delicious cheese, 5ft long filled subs, sweet stations and that's not including all the tasty morsels being delivered around the room by staff.

Entertainment included glamorous stilt walkers, fire eaters and a very talented caricature artist. Unfortunately I left mine on a table somewhere during the event, I may of been distracted by a tray of drinks offered to me by a very nice young man.

The hotel consists of

  • 73 bedrooms, including ten luxury garden suites with outdoor hot tubs.

  • Bar & restaurant, complete with the extended terrace.

  • Refreshed meeting and event spaces and revived garden and pool areas with private poolside cabanas.

If you haven't been to the hotel I would highly recommend it even if you pop in for cocktails on the lawn, but if you can book a suite they really are stunning. Bournemouth really needs a luxury hotel like this, wishing the team a booming season.
