Yesterday I was invited to the unveiling of the beautiful life size 'Born Free Forever' sculptures that are currently prowling the grounds of the Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa
The bronze sculptures were created by world renowned creative artists Gillie and Marc (Love The Last), every sculpture celebrates Elsa the lioness, Born Free's original inspiration and continual symbol of hope for wildlife.
The event was hosted by guest patron Kirsty Gallacher and Executive President Will Travers OBE who spoke passionately about his connection with the lions from a very early age and how the Born Free Foundation has become a global force for conservation and welfare of wildlife.
My recommendation would be to book lunch in the Chewton Glen dining room, then pick up the Born Free Forever map and stroll around the grounds, scan the QR codes on each sculpture to find out more about each pride member.
Delicious lunch photos from previous visit.
These wonderful sculptures are for sale if you have the space and bank balance to accommodate them, regrettably I don't, but if like me you would like to help by donating, there are four lions that have been rescued from a circus in France and are waiting to have a lifetime of care at their sanctuary in South Africa. Your donation could make a difference to their lives and others like them.
Invite - thank you so much for the invitation to hear more about this wonderful charity.
