Three beautiful flavoured hand crafted botanical liqueurs produced in Cornwall are the first deliciously branded offerings from The Whimsical Forager.
The companies founder Belen Robbins, has always worked in the drinks industry, during the first lockdown of 2020 she had what she describes as "a bit of a wakeup", it was during this time she decided to take the opportunity to develop her own brand.
Luckily for me Belen is from Bournemouth and asked me to sample her new products, taking inspiration from nature and drinks such as the classic Lemoncello three final flavours have been developed.
Lemon and Basil
Orange & Tarragon
Nettle, Honey & Ginger
As a new product, experimenting is encouraged - drink as an aperitif or turn it into a long tail by adding fresh juices, spirits or sparkling wine.
The orange and tarragon is currently my favourite but still plenty more testing to be done.
Belen is excited by the prospect of brand extensions in the future, these may well include marmalades, curds, or cordials. With a wealth of diversity in nature, so many new flavour combinations can be created, in line with the seasons the possibilities are endless.
Head to The Whimsical Forager to order a bottle for yourself or if you are heading to your local farm shop look out for them on the shelves.
