The ever popular Gin House in Wimborne has relocated, it opened its' doors to the public on 25th May, Bank Holiday weekend. Don't worry though its only a short walk to the new location in Church Street, just off of the Square. The larger premises have been keenly awaited by the community and loyal customers.
I went along to the launch event on behalf of Dorset Foodie Family to see what this new gin venue has to offer.

Owners Kate and Gorden Compston have taken several months and made considerable investment to repair and refit the Gin House, it definitely has its own unique style retaining the charm of the Grade II listed building. I love the colours and the swanky decor a clear nod to the 1920s.
Jewel colours have been expertly chosen to give a luxurious feel to the furnishings, drapes separating seating areas help to provide cosy little nooks if you want something a little more private.
If gin is your thing then you will be spoilt for choice with over 200 gins available, some locally produced e.g. (Conker, Pothecary) and some from much further afield. Other drinks are served if gin is not your tipple but this would be the perfect place to be converted!
On the top of my list for the next family occasion is hire of the exclusive private tasting room were we can experience gin tasting and tuition from their expert mixologists. This space is great for corporate or private events. It is a shame however, that I live in Christchurch and someone would have to drive. If you live close by I am very jealous that you have this new bar on your doorstep.
