Jimmy's Iced Coffee is B Corp Certified

Great news for Christchurch based business - Jimmy's Iced Coffee.

Read about how they have they have achieved it.

Jimmy’s Iced Coffee Proudly Announces B Corp Certification.

Jimmy’s, the family-owned Iced Coffee brand announces that it has been certified as a B Corporation (B Corp), the next step in the brand’s pledge to do better for the people and the planet. The certification further supports the company’s commitment to operating its business as a force for good, while delivering ethically sourced, environmentally conscious products.

To achieve B Corp accreditation, companies must score 80 or above by showing high social and environmental values across five key areas in a business: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. Jimmy’s finished the rigorous assessment with a high verification score of 86.6.

Jimmy’s Co-founder, Jim Cregan, commented “We’ve always been on a mission to produce products in a responsible way, thinking about our impact on the planet and how we can do better. We’re honoured to be part of a global movement of companies and to be joining a network of like-minded organisations.”

A large part of the brand’s focus has been on moving away from single-use plastics, switching their entire range into infinitely recyclable aluminium cans. This has saved over 99 tonnes of plastic waste so far. The brand also uses only Rainforest Alliance Certified Coffee to ensure they are doing their part to preserve and support the three pillars of sustainability: social, economic and environmental.

Jimmy’s supports local food banks, the NHS and the police force having donated 18,000 Iced Coffees so far this year. They also invest their time and resources into the younger generation, working with programmes such as the John Egging Trust where co-founder, Jim, will give talks that guide, inspire, and help develop young people from all backgrounds.

The brand is now using their B Corp score as a benchmark, looking into ways in which they can continue to improve their operations and community support.

Nutritional’s:

Jimmy’s entire ready-to-drink range uses only Rainforest Alliance certified Arabica coffee beans, milk (or Oat milk) demerara sugar and Belgian chocolate in their Mocha.

About Jimmy’s:

Jim Cregan’s ‘lightbulb’ moment came after becoming hooked on Iced Coffee during a trip to Australia and returning to the UK to find supermarket shelves lacking in a thirst-quenching equivalent that wasn’t too sweet.

Following a few rounds of taste tests in Jim’s sister Suze’s café in Bournemouth, Jimmy’s Iced Coffee was born.

Today the siblings have built up a nationally recognised and celebrity-endorsed brand with sales set to exceed 9m units this year.

Stocked in both independent stores and cafes, alongside supermarkets such as Waitrose, Tesco, ASDA, Morrisons, M&S and Co-op, the brands Iced Coffee comes in infinitely recyclable aluminium cans and the UK’s first BottleCan™.

A favoured lunchtime pick-me-up, Jimmy’s is also included in the Meal Deal option in Tesco.

Jimmy’s is stocked in over 7,000 stores nationwide and looks to continue this growth through their partnership with Molson Coors.
